Attorney Jean J. Brown has specialized in Plaintiff’s Personal Injury Litigation for over 25 years. She is a passionate advocate and fights hard to seek justice for injured persons and for those whose family members have been affected by the negligence of others.
Attorney Brown obtained her Bachelor of Arts with distinction in Behavioral Science and Law, along with a Certificate in Criminal Justice, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She earned her law degree cum laude from Marquette University Law School. During law school she also represented MU law school in the National Labor Law Moot Court competition.
Attorney Brown is admitted to the Wisconsin Bar Association, and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Attorney Brown’s professional memberships include the State Bar of Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Association for Justice, the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys, and the Waukesha County Bar Association. She served as a board member of the Wisconsin Association for Trial Lawyers for ten years, and was recognized for her work as a member of its Constitutional Challenge Committee which fought against tort reform laws that adversely impacted the legal rights of the injured.
Attorney Brown was named a Wisconsin Super Lawyer in the category of Plaintiffs Personal Injury. In 2014 she was recognized as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer for Civil Plaintiff work by the National Trial Lawyers Association, and a Top Ten Attorney by the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys. In 2015, Attorney Brown was named a Leading Lawyer for Personal Injury by “M”, Milwaukee’s Lifestyle Magazine, where she achieved its highest rank of Superb.Attorney Brown has had a number of published court decisions, including:
Jean is a past board member for a non-profit Performing Arts Department parent organization at a local high school, a former citizen advocate for Farmland Preservation and Environmental Resource Protection at local and county levels, and a current volunteer and monitor for the State Bar’s Wisconsin Lawyers Assistance Program.
Jean and her husband are avid fans of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, Milwaukee Bucks, UW Badgers football and basketball, and Marquette basketball. Having raised two children to adulthood, Jean and her husband enjoy life on their hobby farm where they garden and care for their pets and farm animals.
